Don mueaung airport is the oldest international airport, since 1914 all international flights were landind there. In 2006 it was replaced by suvarnabhumi because of the increase of passengers. I like the atmosphere of this airport, so many souvenirs there, so many stories it could tell. It is now operating some international flights and mostly domestic destinations.
This airport is closer to khaosan road than suvarnabhumi.

This airport is closer to khaosan road than suvarnabhumi, an hour or less ride by taxi or bus, depending on the traffic.

The public taxi counter is easy to find, just follow the TAXI sign when you alredy got your bagages, if you have some. Then inform about your destination, get your ticket and go and meet your driver. The normal fare is about 200 bahts, not include tollway fee.

Another option is the Airport Bus. You have a private shuttle for 150 bahts, little more luxury than the A4 bus.

You can get the A4 bus at 2 different stops, one is at Terminal 1 gate 6 & the other is at Terminal 2 gate 12. Price is 50 bahts, no need to look for a counter, you can pay to the staff on board. The bus will take the highway, so it is really convenient and fast. You will stop near demacracy monument, near wat Bowonniwet and near wat Chanasongkran (near the old police station). Bus A4 operates from 7am to 11pm and you can cactch a bus every 30 mn.
